MEETING WITH THE COMPANY
4 May, 6 pm | Ridotto of the Teatro
Délire à deux is a small masterpiece of the Teatro dell’Assurdo, an irresistible theatrical joke typical of the best Ionesco, where the comic and mocking frame and the verbal funambolismo make shine through a society that drowns in the daily tragedy and in the disconcerting gratuitousness of behavior, and where language, instead of being a tool of communication, is an obstacle that removes and divides. In the comedy the paradox and the grotesque and the perennial, futile, incessant quarrel between Him and Her, ridiculous human puppets imprisoned in the web of a familiar ménage bored and repetitive. The theme of the dispute is always and only a pretext: the snail and the turtle are not the same beast? An absurd pick (but that the two live as fundamental) that acts as a springboard to a dialogue increasingly tight, funambolic and warlike that soon reaches the peaks of the nonsense from comic ending, a tragicomic domestic Helzapoppin.
